This meeting is usually followed by bulb wrapping for the fall bulb sale. Location: St Andrews Office Park, Eau Claire, WI Top Bus Trip Date: July (tentative) Notes: Although we do not do this every, year it has become highlight for our members and their guests. We have visited several places of interest to gardners traveling in Wisconsin and Minnesota. These are all day affairs. Join us for a good time. We will leave the driving to a professional bus driver. Executive Board meetings The directors, officers, and committee chairs gather to plan the activities of WRLS. The board meets at least twice each year. At the fall meeting the board plans the calender for the coming year. Time: Thursday evenings, starting at 7:00 pm Location: To be announced. Notes: These meetings are open to all members. Contact a board member to verify meeting location. Top Bulb Sales Bulb sales are held in the spring each year. This sale, in March or April, is a good time to get bulbs for planting as soon as the soil can be worked or may be potted and later set out, or even left in pots. This is a good time to get Orientals as some of them are not very winter hardy. The sale may be held in connection with some free educational seminars. Bulb wrapping (a "members only" activity) Bulbs are packaged and labeled for sale. This is a great time to get to know other Lily enthusiasts. Ask your questions and someone is sure to have an answer. This is a real learning opportunity. It is fun and the treats are always good. You might win a door prize and of course you have the opportunity to purchase bulbs before the general public. Top Lily Shows and Exhibits WRLS Regional Lily Shows Most years a Regional Lily Show is sponsored by WRLS. It affords us an opportunity for some fun competition, fellowship, and to see just what those funny looking bulbs actually produce. One does not have to be a member to enter a show. NALS International Lily Shows Sponsored by the NALS and hosted by regionals in the US and Canada these shows attract visitors from around the world. WRLS hosted the 1996 International Show in Eau Claire and will again in 2006. Some members attend the International Show where ever it is. For more information on shows go here Exhibits Starting in 2000, WRLS exhibits lilies at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair as an opportunity of inform the public of these wonderful flowers. Top
